Associates: The Association's associates are made up by the Association's founders and individuals whose inscription request is accepted by the Board of Directors and who meet all admission requirements established in article six (6) of the Association's Statutes as well as all other rules or provisions approved by the General Assembly.

Requirements: To be an Associate of the Association the following is required:

a) Learning and commitment to the goals, principles and objectives of the Association defined in the Association's Statutes;

b) Compliance with the official admission procedure established in the internal regulations of the Association.

Clases de asociados: Associates can be:

a) Founders;

b) Active Members;

c) Benefactors and

d) Honorary Members.

 

Founding Associates: Those that signed the Public Constitution Deed and are as such permanent advisors of the Board of Directors, as as they haven't become separated or renounced the Association.

Active Member Associates: Those individuals that have been admitted as Associates by the Board of Directors, meet the admission requirements established in article six (6) of the Statutes and other rules or provisions approved by the General Assembly.

Benefactor Associates: Those individuals or entities that have made donations or provided services to the Association and that, at the judgement of the Board of Directors, are worthy of such designation. These Associates shall be able to form part of the Association's commissions.

Honorary Associates: Those individuals that, due to their merits, are designated by the Board of Directors as such.

Associate Rights: The rights of Founding and Active Member Associates are:

a) To elect and be elected to form part of the Board of Directors and undertake any post that the Association entrusts them.

b) To have a voice and vote in the sessions of the General Assembly;

c) To be informed of the Association's matters;

d) To represent an Associate in sessions of the General Assembly;

e) To present reports and requests to the Association; and

f) To participate in the organized activities of the Association.

 

Obligations of the Associates: The obligations of Founding and Active Member Associates are:

a) To comply and make others comply with the Statutes, Regulations, provisions and resolutions of the Association;

b) To attend sessions and meetings that are called;

c) To promote the growth of the Association;

d) To accept and comply with the highest degree of responsibility the positions and comissions they are entrusted with;

e) To punctually attend sessions that are convoked or delegate their representation in writing;

f) To promote the development of the Association as well as ensure its good image;

g) To make adequate use of its instalations, including furniture and equipment; and

h) Jealously guard the assets of the Association.

 

Withdrawal of Founding Associates: Founding Associates can be removed from their positions and withdraw from the Association by:

a) Written renouncement;

b) Proven offence violating the principles of the Association; and

c) Proven crimes.

In cases of clauses b) and c) of this article, the Associate will be garantied the right to defend him or herself, for which the Board of Directors should open a file on the matter and forward it to a special session of the General Assembly specifically convoked for its consideration. .

Loss of Active Member Associate Status: Active Member Associate status is lost by:

a) Written renouncement;

b) Inactivity resulting from non-compliance with obligations and responsibilites established in these Statutes and Regulations; and

c) Having committed serious offenses that compromise the principles, seriousness or prestige of the Association or that are not in accordance with its goals, facts that should be proven before a competent judge.

In reference to clause b) the corresponding declaration of loss of Active Member Associate status will be made by the Board of Directors, based on the Associate's participation and interest report, prepared annually by the Executive Director and Secretary.

En el supuesto regulado en el inciso c) la declaratoria de perdida de calidad de asociado activo la hará la Junta Directiva en sesión extraordinaria convocada para tratar dicho asunto, previamente se le correrá audiencia por el plazo de cinco días para que aclare o justifique la falta o faltas que se le imputen.

El afectado puede interponer un recurso de apelación conforme lo regula el artículo cincuenta y uno (51) de estos Estatutos ante la Junta Directiva durante los tres días siguientes a la notificación de la resolución que le afecte.

La Junta Directiva cursará el expediente al conocimiento de la Asamblea General Extraordinaria convocada para tratar dicho asunto.
